Create a Dynamic Customer Group

A dynamic customer group is a group with changing membership. Membership is based on purchase history, profile, address, or active data. You can also base membership on membership in system and static customer groups. You can't base membership on dynamic customer groups.

Create a dynamic customer group for a targeted campaign, micro-site, and product line.
  1. Select site > Merchant Tools > Customers > Customer Groups.
  2. Click New.
  3. Enter an ID (mandatory).
  4. Select Dynamic.
  5. Click Save.
  6. On general tab, enter or edit a description.
For example, Female customers from the United States and Canada who spend an average of $100 or more per order).
  7. To add a condition, in the Membership Rule section:
See Dynamic Customer Group Attributes on the available attributes.
    1. Click Add.
    2. Click Select Attribute and select from the list.
Use the search-as-you-type functionality to quickly find attributes.
    3. Select an operator.
    4. Select a value.
  8. Use the square icon on the left to drag a condition from one position to another.
You can drag and drop within an inclusion or exclusion list or from an inclusion to an exclusion and vice versa.
  9. Select AND or OR between conditions to change their relationship.

Best practice: If you add one of the following two conditions, AND makes more sense than OR>:

    • Average order value over $50 AND Country is Italy
    • Average order value over $50 OR Country is Italy

The following would be a better OR condition.

    • City is Denver OR City is Boulder
