Salesforce B2C Commerce enables you to run reports against captured analytics data. You can use the separate Reports and Dashboards portal, which graphs your site's sales, product, or promotion data for a selected time period; or you can use the Business Manager Analytics module. Both capture and report on a variety of data from the B2C Commerce eCommerce storefront.

No matter which tool you use, for metrics to be meaningful, you should focus on the correlation between metrics and finite numbers such as revenue and number of orders. The overall goal of using metrics is to identify trends over time.

To capture these analytics, you must add certain templates to your application. B2C Commerce uses session IDs to capture web activities. While this doesn't distinguish between visits and visitors (unique visits), it does circumvent the issue with users blocking cookies or not allowing JavaScript and therefore not being counted. B2C Commerce also uses web logs, which are faster than pulling data from the database. The web logs represent all storefront web activities, for example, orders entered by consumers. They don't represent, for example, order cancellations, order modifications, and returns performed off-line by the merchant.

Business Manager provides these analytics reports:

Module Purpose
Conversion Reports Includes data on the conversion of visits, shopping carts, and checkouts to order, conversion of source codes to orders, and visits to shopping carts, to checkout, and to orders.
Purchase Reports Includes data on the orders and revenue, average revenue, average order, and ordered products.
GMV Reports Includes data on the orders and revenue, average revenue, average order, and ordered products.
Catalog Reports Includes data on the top products ordered by quantity and revenue.
Search and Navigation Reports Includes data on the top search terms, and the top referring search engines.
Customer Reports Includes data on the number of new customers, number of first time buyers, and the total number of registered customers.
Traffic Reports Includes data on the top pages, top referrers, top user agents, top robots, total requests, request runtime, total visits, and visit duration.

A/B Testing Reports

Provides an overview of the A/B tests performed on your store and includes data on group segmentation and conversion rates, when using the ABCTest pipelet. The pipelet used is deprecated.

This report is different from the A/B testing functionality within the Online Marketing module, which enables you to test user responses to promotions, slot content, and sorting rules. See A/B Testing for more details.

Object Churn Trends Reports

Shows trends in the creation, update, and deletion of objects in the database.

Historical Reports

Access to deprecated legacy Business Manager reports.

When using these reports, keep in mind the following:

For the analytics reports, all analytics are compiled in the en_US locale. Don't modify the reporting template locale for any reason. If you have questions, contact Commerce Cloud Support.

Note: the Analytics calendar widget uses the US standard for week number calculation. This means that Sunday is considered the first day of week, while Saturday marks the end of a week.
Note: the precision of the conversion and percentage values in reports is two decimal places, to show really small conversion rates. For example, instead of reporting 0.0% for 250,000 visits and 95 orders (one decimal place), analytics reports 0.04%.
