Apple Pay on the Web Supported Locales

Apple Pay on the Web is currently available in the U.S., UK, Canada, Australia, China, and Singapore. Apple has also announced that, among other countries, Apple Pay will soon be available in Hong Kong.

For the latest details, see https://developer.apple.com/apple-pay/.

Apple requires that a country code be passed in the request to show the payment sheet. You configure the country code to use for Apple Pay in Business Manager. Each site must have a country code; the country code can be different for different sites. If one site serves multiple countries, you can implement a custom hook to set the appropriate country code for a request.

The Apple Pay button is localized based on website preferences; however, the payment sheet labels are determined by system preferences/language. The button is in the same locale as the website; the payment sheet is in the same locale as the user’s systems preferences.

The labels specific to Apple Pay on the Web (shown in English) are:

Apple supports custom labels for line items. By default Commerce Cloud creates Tax, Discounts, and Merchandise line items. These are localizable by including applepay.properties (for default locale) or applepay_[locale].properties (for other locales) in a custom cartridge in the same way labels are localized in templates for the site. The label for a shipping line item is determined by Apple, but the shipping type for a request can be changed in the same manner as the country code, such as a custom hook implementation.

Resource files are bundled in Salesforce B2C Commerce that contain localized Apple Pay labels for supported languages. Customers can include applepay.properties and applepay_[locale].properties files in a custom cartridge in their cartridge path to override the B2C Commerce default labels. B2C Commerce default labels are provided in the following languages:

Note: To troubleshoot issues from other regions, change the region setting on the device to a region where Apple Pay is supported.
