Assigning Catalogs to Sites

You assign a catalog to a site on the Site Assignments tab of the catalog definition editor. When you assign a catalog to a site, the catalog that was previously assigned to that site is automatically unassigned. There can be only one catalog assigned to a site at a time. Unassigning a catalog from a site doesn't result in another catalog being assigned; you must specifically assign a catalog to the site.
  1. Select site > Merchant Tools > Products and Catalogs > Catalogs.
  2. On the Catalogs page, click Edit for the catalog you want to manage.
  3. Click the Catalog page Site Assignments tab.
  4. Select the sites you want to assign this catalog to and click Apply.
    You can assign the catalog to as many sites as you want.
    When you assign a catalog to a site, the category structure defined within the catalog becomes the navigation structure of the storefront site. In order for the products in the catalog (or assigned to the categories in the catalog) to be included in the search, you must rebuild the product search index (select site > Merchant Tools > Search > Search Indexes. Select the index to rebuild and click Rebuild).
