Commerce Cloud Einstein Consent Management

With every click, Einstein collects shopper browsing events and updates the shopper’s predictive model in real-time to calculate the most relevant experiences for the shopper. When the cq_dnt cookie is set to not allow data consent, certain Einstein functionality is affected.

You can use the Commerce Cloud Privacy preferences in Business Manager to manage the do-not-track cookies and user consent. This preference sets a default tracking behavior for all new sessions created on the merchant site.

Predictive Sort as only Attribute

Doesn’t work

If a merchant is using only Predictive Sort as a sorting rule, the fallback sorting order is the order in which the products were indexed in the search index, which is what would happen if there are no sorting rules on a page.

Predictive Sort as one of several attributes in the sorting rule

Works

The Predictive Sort attribute is affectively ignored.

Predictive Sort as part of a Dynamic Attribute

Works

The calculation occurs as normal but the Predictive Sort score is omitted.

Mitigating Do-Not-Track Risks as Pertained to Predictive Sort

Best practice includes Predictive Sort in an existing dynamic sorting rule so that the sorting rule is a combination of different attributes. For example, weighted with data, such as text relevancy on keyword search results pages, or active data on category grid pages.

Einstein Commerce Insights

Einstein Commerce Insights still displays results, excluding the data of shoppers who have opted out.

Einstein Search Dictionaries

Einstein Search Dictionaries continues to work. Search queries from a Do-Not-Track shopper aren’t used to suggest recommendations.
