When you use the search form at the top of the Security Manager page, active security Roles matching the search criteria appear in a list with information as described in the following table.

Name |
The name of the Role, such as Public, Store, or Administrator |
Description |
A brief description of the Role. |
When you click the Role ID link in the Security Role Listing, the Security Role XXXX - XXXX page appears, where XXXX - XXXX refers to the Role ID – Role Name. You can modify the general information for a custom Role on the Security Roles Detail page, as well as edit the permissions for that Role on the Edit Permission Sets page.
The following table describes the fields and buttons on the Security Role XXXX – XXXX Details page.

Displays [New] in the ID field indicating that the Role ID number is automatically generated by the system. |
Name/Label |
(Required field) The name or a label to assign to the Role. For example, Public. |

Description |
A description for the Role. For example, Public role with the lowest level privilege. (Optional field) |

Opens the Edit General Info page where custom Roles can be changed. Note that the general information for the default Roles are unavailable and can't be changed. |

Save the information for the new Role. The Name/Label and Short Label fields are required and are indicated with a red asterisk (*). |

Closes the Security Role Manager. |

Permission Sets |
ID |
Shows the ID number for the Role. |
Group |
Permission groups are for organization and include Common, Customer Service Center, and Fulfillment Center. |

Name |
The name of the Role with a description of the permissions that the role has access. |
|
Edit |
Click Edit to edit the permission information on the Edit Permission Sets page. |
|
Role checkbox |
Check or uncheck the permission set for the Role. |
|
Filter |
Filters the list of permissions that appear/ Enter an ID number or a permission group in the Filter field. For example, filtering on “login” removes permissions that don't contain the word login. |

Copy From drop-down |
A drop-down list where you can copy the permission set from an existing role into this Role. |

Copy button |
When an existing Role is selected in the Copy Form drop-down list, click Copy to automatically check the boxes that correspond to the permission sets assigned to the selected Role. Note: Manually uncheck any
permission that should be removed from this Role.

Save button |
Saves the changed permission settings. The new Role is created with the selected permissions. |
|
Cancel button |
Closes the Security Role Manager. |

When you click New Security Role at the top of the Roles Manager page, the Security Roles detail page appears, to enter general role information for a new custom role.
