Understanding Order Actions: Pricing

Order pricing can become very complex due to a number of factors, including tax policies, promotions, extra charges, and exchanges. The following topics are designed to illustrate how pricing fields are calculated when taking common order item actions, such as returns and appeasements. They should provide clarity for Customer Service Center users working with different types of orders. For information on the different factors that affect pricing, see Pricing and Promotions.

Note: The scenarios here assume a net tax policy (sales tax is considered separately from unit prices) and a sales tax of 6%. If you use a gross tax policy, tax amounts are included in unit prices rather than appearing in separate tax fields.

The scenarios described in most of these topics are based on the following order. Note the $45 item-level price adjustment on the third order line and the $75 order-level price adjustment.
