The Inventory Station manages item
inventory at a warehouse location. In addition to receiving
deliveries, accepting returns, moving quantities of Items between
locations within the warehouse, and adjusting quantities, Inventory
Station can be used to create returns and return orders for Items that are
returned to the warehouse without prior arrangements.
The
following diagram summarizes the available actions in Inventory
Station.
Scenarios
Following are some typical scenarios
encountered by a Warehouse Manager user.
Scenario: receiving returned items with No RMA |
A returned item that has no existing return order is
received at the warehouse. |
Action |
The warehouse resource processes the return by following
these steps:
- In Order Management Fulfillment Center: click
Inventory Station.
- Select Receive Return.
- Select Order No. from the list in the upper left
of the page.
- Enter the sales order number enclosed with the returned
item in the text field and press Enter. A list of
items in the order display.
- Click the Return button associated with the
returned Item.
- On the window that opens, enter 1 in the Quantity
field.
- Because the item is in resaleable condition, select
Restockable.
- Select Unknown from the Reason list.
- Enter Blind return in the Description field.
- Click Update to close the window.
- Select Credit to Original Methods from the list
at the bottom of the page.
- Click Submit. A return order is automatically
generated.

Scenario: stocking items at a warehouse location |
A delivery of two items is received and assigned to a
warehouse location. |
Action |
The warehouse resource receives and stocks the item by
following these steps:
- In Order Management Fulfillment Center: click
Inventory Station.
- Select Receive Delivery.
- Click New Delivery.
- Enter the delivery reference number in the Reference
field.
- Enter a description of the item in the Notes field.
- Click Next.
- Scan the item code.
- Enter the quantity of the item received in the delivery
in the Quantity field.
- Scan the tag for the warehouse location where the item
is stocked.
- Click Receive.
- Repeat steps 7-10 for the second Item.
- Click Complete.
