Orders Waiting Allocation Queue

Orders Waiting Allocation are not yet allocated or have been partially allocated. A buildup of Orders in this queue might indicate a problem with the allocation process. An Order that remains in this queue through several executions of the allocation process must be investigated.

Review Orders and investigate the allocation process as needed.


A Sales Order is placed, and before it reaches the Allocation step, an Item in the Order sells out. The Order can't be Allocated because the Item is unavailable. The Item isn't restocked, so the Order remains in the Waiting Allocation Queue for an extended period of time. A user reviewing the Queue notes the age of the Order and investigates the availability of the Item. If necessary, the Customer is contacted and offered an alternate Item.
