Managing Products

In Salesforce B2C Commerce, products belong to the entire organization and not necessarily one specific site, so every product must have a unique SKU in the context of the organization.

Within B2C Commerce, products are defined in the context of a catalog. A product exists in one specific catalog, and must belong to a category to appear on the storefront site. Categories provide the navigational structure for the products.

Products inherit attribute definitions from the default category assigned to the product. A product's default category can be any category in the organization.

Note: There is only one copy of a product, regardless of what catalog it's assigned to, so synchronization isn't necessary when making changes to a product definition.
