Adding Qualifying Products

You can specify qualifying products (products must be ordered to take advantage of the promotion) when the promotion is a Product class promotion and is of one of these promotion types:

A product include or exclude rule can contain multiple attribute conditions. These conditions are AND combined, for example: category equals television AND price is less than or equals $200.
Note: Make sure, when adding another inclusion, that you click Add (located below the inclusion) and not Add Include (located above the inclusion). Clicking Add Include after an inclusion is created will result in two inclusions linked by OR instead of AND.
  1. Select site > Merchant Tools > Online Marketing > Promotions > promotion.
  2. On the Promotions page, enter or select the general promotion information.
  3. Specify a Product promotion.
  4. Set the promotion type to one of the following:
    • With amount of qualifying products
    • With number of qualifying products
    • Buy X / Get Y
    • Buy X and Y / Get Z
  5. Specify the appropriate discount. For example, if you specify With amount of qualifying product, specify Buy $200 or more and get 20 Percent Off.
  6. Click Edit to specify a qualifying product.
  7. On the Product Include/Exclude window, click in the Included Product fields to populate them and specify criteria for included products.
To add more included products and create AND statements between them (included product X AND included product Y. . . ), click Add.To add more included products and create OR statement between them (included product A OR included product B), click Add Include.

The same applies for added excluded products.

  8. Specify the qualifier for an inclusion and exclusion:
    Option Description
Category Select the specific category from catalog tree (drop down under Value).
ID Select specific product IDs from the drop down in Value, enter multiple product IDs separated by commas or select multiple products from the product selection page.
Brand Select specific brands from the drop down in Value. The brand list is derived from the organization catalog. If there are multiple sites, brands from all sites will appear in this list.
    Price

Specify less than or equal to, greater than or equal to, or ends with in the Operator field, then specify a numeric value in Value field.

The ends with selection enables you to filter based on the digits of a price after a decimal separator (if there is one). For example, if a price ends with 88, it would match a product costing $2.88. This is useful if you identify sets of products by their ending digits, for example, 88. Products with this type of price ($75.88, for example) would receive a 40% discount.

ATS (Available to sell) Specify less than or equal to or greater than or equal to in Operator field, then specify a numeric value in Value field. This field is applicable when the application uses Salesforce B2C Commerce's inventory model.
    Price Book

Specify one or more price book IDs or select them from the price book panel. The price book panel lists all price books that have the same currency as the current site. This includes price books that are explicitly assigned to the site as well as price books that are activated based on source codes. You can page through the list of price books, and search for price books by price book ID and Name.

Product Option ID Specify the ID of a product option and set it equal to a value. For example, select Warranty and set it equal to 2 year warranty. If the product in the basket has this option selected, the product qualifies for the promotion. Any discount on the product line item in the cart includes a discount on the product option.
Custom Attributes Specify the product attribute (of the System Product object) by which to qualify the purchased products. Only custom attributes of the system Product object are offered; and only of type String (including Enum and Set), Integer (including Enum and Set) and Boolean.
  9. Specify the operator (for inclusion and exclusion):
    Option Description
Category equals (or is a child of), is a child of, is direct child of, is parent of, is direct parent of, is sibling of - related to other categories in the catalog
ID equals, does not equal, starts with, contains, does not contain
Brand exists, does not exist, equals, does not equal, starts with, ends with, contains, does not contain
Price, ATS is less than or equals, is greater than of equals
Price Book storefront price in, price in. See Price from Pricebook Promotions.
Product Option ID exists, does not exist, equals
Custom exists, does not exist, equals, does not equal, starts with, ends with, contains, does not contain (depending on the qualifier)
  10. Specify the value (for inclusion and exclusion). Select from the drop down or make a specification. You can use a comma-separated list for category, brand, ID and some custom attributes.

You can also specify a name in the search along with the ID (for example, "S1653098, Nokia*").

  11. Click Save.
