Globally Excluding Product Options

When configuring promotions, you can specify a list of product options that will never be discounted. For example, you might want certain high-margin options, such as warranties, to never be discounted; while other options, such as memory upgrades, are discounted frequently.

When specifying options to exclude from discounts, you must specify an option ID. However, it's possible in Salesforce B2C Commerce to define different product options with the same ID. For example, there can be several products that define a local product option called warranty, and possibly even a shared product option with the same ID. With this new feature, all options with the excluded ID are prevented from receiving discounts. If you don't want to exclude all options, you must assign a unique ID to each option.

  1. Select site > Merchant Tools > Online Marketing > Promotions.
  2. On the Promotions List page, from the Actions drop down, select Globally Excluded Product Options.
  3. On the Globally Excluded Product Options window, click Add to add product options to the exclusion list.
  4. On the Add Product Options Global Exclusion page, select one or more product options to exclude and click OK.
  5. On the Globally Excluded Product Options window, which reopens showing the changes, click Save to save your changes.
