Maximum Application

You can limit how many times a promotion can apply per order using the maximum application limit. These discount types can be configured for this limit:

You can apply free shipping to only one shipment of a multi-shipment order. You can also limit the number of times a bonus discount is applied to an order.

When the maximum application setting is used, it affects promotion priority rules.

Maximum Application Limits for Choice of Bonus Product Discounts

A promotion with a choice of bonus product discount can have application limits as follows:

The maximum applications setting is only meaningful for product promotions of type with amount of qualifying products.

For a promotion such as Buy 3 pairs of pants and get a choice of 1 bonus shirt, if a customer buys 12 pairs of pants, they get to choose four bonus shirts. In contrast, for a promotion such as Buy $100 worth of widgets and a get a choice of 1 bonus shirt, if the customer buys $500 worth of widgets, they only get a single bonus shirt, not five.

In this example, the maximum application # limits the number of free silk ties that are shipped with an order.
