Cache Profiler Tool

Location

To use the Cache Information tool, click the icon in the upper left corner of the storefront and select Cache Information.

Description

The Cache Profiler tool shows icons for pages and remote includes that indicate whether they are cached or not . Clicking on the icons opens a window that shows caching information.
CAUTION:
Before using the tool, select Administration > Sites > Manage Sites > site > Cache and uncheck the Enable Page Caching option. If page caching is enabled, then the processing time is only evaluated the first time the page component is retrieved. It's more useful if the page caching is disabled, so that you can evaluate processing time as you make changes.

Developers can use this information in real time while working with storefront templates to examine the cost of caching portions of a page. The Cache Profiler tool shows caching information for pipeline calls for the page itself or remote includes. Because static content caching isn't shown by the Cache Profiler tool, caching information for third-parties doesn't appear. Caching information for local includes also doesn't appear.

Pipeline: shows the pipeline rendering a given page component. Click the pipeline link to open the pipeline in UX Studio.
Note: You must have the cartridge containing the pipeline in your copy of Studio to be able to edit the pipeline.
Template: Shows the template rendering a given page component. Click the template link to open the template in UX Studio.
Note: You must have the cartridge containing the template in your copy of Studio to be able to edit the template.

Processing Time: Shows the cost of a page component in terms of application server processing time.

Caching Status: Shows the cache time for cached page components.
