Using the Search Information Tool

If the Search Information tool is checked in the storefront toolkit menu, but no looking glass icon appears in the search results in your storefront, then your site doesn't have the required tagging implemented to use this tool. For more information, see Implementing the Search Information Tool.
  1. Enter a search query or select a category in the storefront. You can also further refine the search or sort the search results using the storefront sorting options.
  2. When you can see the search results you want to inspect, click the down arrow for the icon in the upper left corner of the storefront.
  3. Select Search Information. Immediately, two new icons appear in the storefront:
    • - Hover over the icon to see the Search Query Window. This icon is located directly to the right of the Storefront Toolkit icon. This window shows information about how the entered search query is processed and the sorting rules that are applied to the current result set.
    • - Hover over the icon to see the Search Results Window. This icon is located above each search result item. This window shows information on the product, the sorting rule, and the attribute values used by the sorting rule. Additional information is also available on the scoring for the search result.
If the looking glass icons don't appear and the Search Information tool is checked in the storefront toolkit menu, then your site doesn't have the required tagging implemented to use this tool. For more information, see Implementing the Search Information Tool.
