Configuring an Order Feed for Commerce Cloud Einstein

Important: This configuration option has been removed from the Business Manager Menu. We recommend that you use the Einstein Self Service Deployment tool to configure order feeds, select Administration > Operations > Einstein Deployment Dashboard. If you need access to the old feed configuration option, contact your Salesforce B2C Commerce support representative.
Important: Order Feeds have been replaced with a new system job named Generate Order Feed that will run daily, and is enabled by default. The information on this page is available for historical purposes.
Before you can use product recommendations, you must first configure an order feed for Commerce Cloud Einstein. Data about your orders is transmitted via this feed. This feed exports important properties about your orders to Commerce Cloud Einstein. This information is used to train the predictive machine learning models used to generate recommendations; this information is also fed into the Configurator tool, which enables you to configure business rules that fine-tune how the system generates recommendations.
When you configure this feed, you control how often order data is exported. Because export jobs can impact the performance of your Production instances, you want to run this feed as infrequently as possible, but often enough to ensure that Commerce Cloud Einstein has fresh data. If your site generates large number of orders, you probably want to run this feed more frequently; but if your volume of orders is relatively small, you can run this job less often. Several iterations might be needed to determine the optimal frequency.
Important: You should only configure this order feed on Production instances.
  1. To configure an order feed, select Administration > Operations > Einstein Deployment Dashboard > .
  2. On the Deployment Configuration section, select a Region.
    Perform this step once per site. This setting specifies a region that corresponds to your primary business geography, which determines where predictive data is physically stored and processed.
  3. In the Feeds section, click Order Feed Schedule.
  4. On the CQuotient Order Feed Schedule page, in the Job Schedule section, specify values for the following fields:
    • Job Scheduled From: Specify the date on which you want to start running the job that exports order data to Commerce Cloud Einstein.
    • At: Specify the time of the day when you want to start running the job.
    • Run Job Every: Specify a number and select a unit of time (Days, Weeks, Months) to define how often you want the job to be run.
  5. In the Export Parameters section, specify values for the following fields:
    • Max Number of Orders per Run: Specify the maximum number of orders to import in a single job execution. The default is 10,000.
    • Export Orders After: Specify the date after which orders should be exported; orders created before this date are not exported.
  6. Select the Enable checkbox to enable the job schedule.
  7. Click Apply to save your changes.
  8. Optionally click Run Now to immediately run the export job.
  9. Optionally click Reset Range to clear your choices.
