# Scenario: Appeasements on Unallocated Orders

In this scenario, a 10% appeasement has been applied to the Office Desk - Black line item, including shipping, while the order is in the waiting allocation status. The Orig Unit Price, Unit Price, Tax, and Ext. Price fields are each reduced by 10% to reflect the appeasement, as is the line-level price adjustment:

Order line field Original value Adjusted value
Orig Unit Price \$159.19 \$143.27
Unit Price \$159.19 \$143.27
Note: A dagger icon appears to signify that the exact value of this field is preserved to more than two decimal places. Hovering over the dagger opens a tooltip that shows the exact value. In this case, \$159.19 x 10% = \$143.271.
Tax \$19.10 \$17.19
Ext. Price \$318.38 \$286.54
Line-level price adjustment \$45 \$40.50
Line-level price adjustment tax adjustment \$2.70 \$2.43

The values in the order totals section are also reduced, based on the changes to the order line:

Order totals field Original value Adjusted value
Subtotal \$799.54 \$772.20
Price Adj. \$75.00 \$72.44
Note: The order-level price adjustment is reduced proportionally to the change in the order subtotal, because it is considered to be prorated across all the line items by price. In this case, the original subtotal of \$799.54 has been reduced by \$27.34, or 3.42%. Reducing the original order-level price adjustment of \$75 by 3.42% results in a new order-level price adjustment of \$72.44.
Shipping \$60.00 \$57.95
Note: The shipping charge is reduced proportionally to the reduction in the subtotal. (In this scenario, which does not consider any special shipping charges for specific items in the order, the shipping is considered to be prorated across all the line items by price.) The subtotal has been reduced by \$27.34, or 3.42%. Reducing the original shipping of \$60 by 3.42% results in the new shipping charge of \$57.95.
Handling \$0.00 \$0.00
Tax \$47.07 \$45.46
Note: In this example, the new taxable amount is the subtotal of \$772.20, minus the price adjustment of \$72.44, plus the shipping charge of \$57.95, for a total of \$757.71. The tax of 6% on this amount is \$45.46. Note that the total taxable amount isn't shown.
(USD) Total \$831.61 \$803.17
Note: This behavior has changed from previous releases, where the original order line would be canceled and replaced with a new order line reflecting the updated price.
Note: If payment has been captured, then after the Customer Service agent clicks Calculate, the total price difference resulting from the appeasement might appear below the order-level appeasement fields as Total Amount to Credit or Excess Funds, with no change to any other fields. Depending on the configuration, the agent or an Order Management administrator must then submit the refund. See Handling Excess Funds with Payment Captured Before Allocation for details.
