Configure eCDN for Staging

To set up staging zones, your development team uses the CDN Zones APIs to upload customer certificates to test an SCAPI implementation and configure vanity host names for staging instances on eCDN.

If you use the CDN-API, you can see the zones that you create but they aren’t visible in Business Manager. Business Manager support to set up and manage eCDN for staging isn’t available.

All configuration and management of staging eCDN zones is done using theCDN Zones component of theSalesforce Commerce API.

  1. Generate a Shortcode and Create an API Client ID
    To use the Salesforce Commerce API, you need:
  2. Create an eCDN Zone and Hostnames
    When a custom SSL certificate isn’t installed to your staging instance POD, or a custom SSL certificate installed to the POD doesn't cover the host name, you upload the required certificate. For each domain name, create an eCDN Zone and upload the certificate.
  3. Migrate Site Traffic
    Configure traffic migration to move traffic over to eCDN
  4. Post-Migration Tasks
    Post-migration tasks validate your eCDN traffic flow and setup. To complete the post-migration process, coordinate with Commerce Cloud Engineering.Commerce Cloud Engineering creates and activates a staging Business Manager zone to handle your Business Manager traffic that goes through only your Business Manager host name, for example, staging-<realm>-<customer>.demandware.net. Business Manager doesn’t have an eCDN management page for staging instances.
  5. eCDN on Staging Maintenance
    You can’t use Business Manager to manage the zones created to support eCDN on your staging instance. The added configurations aren’t visible on the eCDN page when using your production and development instances. The eCDN page isn’t enabled on your staging instance.
