You can configure a region on a page to hold more than one component. Then specify
which component is visible to which customers or which component is visible during certain
dates and times. If you have targeted the component to be part of a campaign or promotion,
this functionality isn’t available. In that case, the campaign or promotion you assign
determines the customer group and schedule, if any.
We assume you have already created a page with a single
component in each region.
-
From the visual editor, open the page.
-
Click on a component.
-
In the right pane, click the arrow next to the component name, and select
Targeting.
-
Select the customer groups for which you want the component to be
visible.
-
Enter the dates and times during which you want the component to be
visible.
The times correspond to the customer's browser time, not the instance
time.
-
Click Apply.
-
Click Save.
-
Click the Components icon.
-
Select a different component and drag it to the same region.
-
Configure the attributes for the new component.
-
In the right pane, click the arrow next to the component name, and select
Targeting.
-
Select the customer groups for which you want the component to be
visible.
-
Enter the dates and times during which you want the component to be
visible.
The times correspond to the customer's browser time, not the instance
time.
-
Click Apply.
-
Click Save.
-
Add as many components to the region as you want.
-
Click the Page Structure icon.
-
Expand the region that holds the components.
All components that you've added to the region are listed. When the page
is displayed, the system starts at the top of the list and checks the visibility
rules for each component. The first component for which the customer and date
and time match the rules is displayed. If the system checks all components and
there is no match, the component at the bottom of the list is displayed.
Components that are below a component that has no rules applied to it are never
displayed because the component above with no rules is always a match. You can
drag the components around to change the order in which they are listed on the
Page Structure window.
