The following table describes the fields and buttons on the Edit Category Information window.
Fields and buttons | Description |

Change Parent button | Moves the category to a subcategory of the newly selected
parent. The Change Parent Category For - xxxxx where
xxxxx is the name of the category form appears. The
following are the fields and buttons:

Clear Parent button | Clearing the parent category moves the category to the root of the category hierarchy. All subcategories are automatically moved when the parent category is moved. The changed hierarchy appears. From here you can Add or Import a new category. |
Provider Attributes button | Defines the provider settings at the category level for the category. The Object Configuration page opens. See Provider Object Configuration for descriptions of the fields and buttons. |
Delete button | Deletes the category or subcategory on the Edit Category Information window. |
Hierarchy bread crumb | Displays the hierarchy from top-level category to the specified category or subcategory. |
Image section | Lets you add an image to assign to the category. Click
Browse to open the file browser window.
Navigate to the desired file and select it, then click
Upload. To delete the image, click the
trash can icon (![]() |
Subcategories section |
Lets you add a subcategory for the category. |
Subcategory field |
Enter a name for the new subcategory, and then click Add or Import. |
Add button |
Adds the newly specified subcategory to add to the category. |
Import button |
Lets you import sub categories for the category. When you click Import, the Import Sub Categories form opens. Select the order in which the data fields appears in the import records using the lists at the top of the form. The following data fields are available for category records: category_cd, category_description, category_name. Paste the import data into the text field, and click Import. Or, click Cancel to discard the import details. |
General Info section |
Consists of the General Info fields for the category or subcategory. |
Edit button |
Opens the General Info form so you can edit the fields
for the category or subcategory. Fields include:
Click Update to save the changes or click Cancel to discard the changes. |
Attributes section |
Lets you assign attributes to a category. When an attribute is assigned to a category or when categorizing an item, you are prompted to enter values for the attributes that have been assigned to the category. |
Attribute field |
A list of attributes that you can assign to the category. When selected, click Add. Then repeat to add multiple categories. Note: You can click the
attribute's link to update some of the the Edit String Attribute
Information (some is viewable only). See Attribute
Manager. You can also add or edit Localization codes for
the attribute. If you add a locale, such as French, English or
German, it's shown in the list. If you click the locale, the
Edit Attribute Localized detail form opens where you can edit or
add field information. See Localizing

fields.

Provider Category Linking section |
Lets you define a category linking for an external marketplace. |
Provider Category field |
A list of external marketplaces, such as eBay. Select the external marketplace from the list and click Link. The selection appears. If you don't want to save this link, click Cancel. |
