Add an API Client ID

Account administrators can use Account Manager to create API client IDs.

The Open Commerce API requires that each client have a client ID. The client must append this ID to the URLs they use to interact with the Open Commerce API.

An API client ID is also required to use the On-Demand Sandbox API.

To add a client ID, perform the following steps:

  1. Log into Account Manager.
  2. Click API Client.

    The API Clients page opens, showing a list of client IDs and, for each ID, a related display name. The display name is a human readable value that identifies the client.

  3. Click Add API Client.

    The Add API Client page opens.

  4. In the Display Name field, enter the display name of the client.
  5. Click Add.

    Account Manager creates a client ID for the display name you provided.

  6. Click Add.

    The API Clients page opens, showing a list of client IDs and, for each ID, a related display name. You can verify that a client ID was generated for the display name you provided. By default, the client ID is enabled. You also can disable the client ID.
