Job Manager

The Job Manager lets you set up and schedule new jobs, as well as manage existing jobs. Jobs are used to automate functions such as the following:

See Job Types for information on the different types of jobs that are available, and Scheduling Jobs for information on defining a job.

A job can be run on a set schedule or can be run manually. When a job is run, it's inserted into the Jobs queue. This queue is processed every 5 minutes, at which time any jobs that have entered the queue since the last process are executed.

To access the Job Manager, click Jobs in the Utilities accordion menu in the left navigation panel.

This topic includes the following sections:

Job Manager Dashboard

The following table describes the components of the Job Manager dashboard:

Fields and Buttons Description
Immediate Job Launcher This panel lets you immediately launch an existing job, regardless of its defined schedule. This queues the job to run, so the actual execution time depends on the current status of the jobs queue. Note that launching a job this way doesn't affect its defined schedule -- it still launches at its next regularly scheduled time. See Job - Immediate Launcher for information on using this panel.
Job Summary section Includes the New Job control and lists of all currently configured jobs by status. See Job - Summary for information on using this panel.

Job - Immediate Launcher

This panel lets you immediately launch an existing job, regardless of its defined schedule. This queues the job to run, so the actual execution time depends on the current status of the jobs queue. Note that launching a job this way doesn't affect its defined schedule -- it still launches at its next regularly scheduled time. However, if the job is already queued to run, it won't be run twice. (Future scheduled runs are still unaffected.) If the job is currently running, attempting to launch it this way shows an error message.

Note: A job must be fully defined in order to be launched. jobs in Waiting Config status are not available here. However, jobs in Pre Launch status that appear in the Waiting Configuration list on this page are available for immediate launch.

Two tools are offered here:
