Order Management Objects

Order Management stores and manages order data in the form of objects. Types of objects include (but are not limited to) the following:

When viewing object types in Order Management Administration: Settings > Objects, the Configuration section contains links to providers that can be defined for that object type.

Object History

Order Management logs a history of all activity related to an object in the object record, and makes it available when viewing the object in the Order Management user interface. For example, a sales order record might list the date/times of its creation, approval, payment, and closing.

The history also includes an email tool that you can use to send an email related to that object. Any emails sent via this tool are also recorded in the history.

Custom Attributes and Tags

In addition to the default data fields assigned to each object type, you can also define custom attribute and tag fields to be used as filters and search criteria. Attributes are variables, while tags are constants. Each is associated with one or more object types.


An attribute is a field that represents a variable property of an object. Each attribute has the following:

For example, you can define a Color attribute for an item object to identify the color of an instance of that item.

You can create attribute groups to help organize your attributes. They are for display only.


A tag is a custom constant value that acts as an identifier for objects. For example, the tag Domestic Sale Only is assigned to item objects that can't be shipped outside the country.
