Resetting a Business Manager Password

If you forget your login or password for Business Manager, you can retrieve it, as long as your user account has a valid email address and you have configured a security question. If you don't have a security question or don't remember the answer to the question, your administrator (a user with administrator privileges) can reset the password for you.

The password reset token expiration period for Business Manager users is 120 minutes.

Note: The password reset token expiration period for storefront users is 30 minutes.

Only the current user is allowed to change their password or update their security question/answer. If you can't remember your user name or the answer to your security question, contact your administrator.

You can only change your password if the old password you entered matches the one stored in Salesforce B2C Commerce, the new password is identical to the password confirmation, and is compliant with the security standard. You can only change your security question and answer if you also enter your old password. If you leave the new password and password confirmation blank, the password will not change.

Your administrator can only generate a password and send it to you. They can't view your security credentials. To generate and send a password, they must first login as the administrator.

Password expiration: if you have a valid email address, Business Manager automatically sends an email to you in 7 days and then 1 day before your password expires.

Locked account: if your account is locked due to too many failed login attempts, you are sent an automated email that is valid for 2 hours. This enables you to unlock your account so you can continue to work. Your current password is preserved. If you don't unlock your account using this email, after two hours, you might have to contact your Administrator, depending on security settings.

  1. If you are a non-administrative user and have forgotten your login information:
    1. Enter your user name without a password or an incorrect password in the login page.
      Business Manager adds a Forgot your password? link to the login page.
    2. Click Forgot your password?.
    3. Answer the security question.
      If you entered your login ID, B2C Commerce automatically selects the security question you set when you first logged in. If you can't be identified by B2C Commerce, a random security question is selected.
      Business Manager emails you a link where you can create a new password.
    4. Click the link.
    5. Enter your new password twice.
    6. Login using your new password.
