Sorting Rule Configuration Window

This window lists the configuration of the sorting rule that is applied for the current search result.

Any sorting rules based on attributes are listed with both the attribute name and ID. For example, in this case the best-matches rule for the search result listed in the Search Query window has five sorting rules: Category Position, Search Placement Descending, Search Rank, Text Relevance, and Explicit Sortings. To see the values for the product for each of these rules, select the Search Results Window.

Rules are applied from top to bottom, with later rules determining the position of items that have identical values for earlier rules. For example, if there were two items with no category position and identical search placement values, the position would be determined by the search rank value. If the search rank value was also identical, the position is determined by the text relevance.
