Pricing, promotions, and tax data can be shared between Order Management and Salesforce B2C Commerce in
two ways:
- Order Management is configured to retrieve pricing, tax (including VAT where appropriate),
and promotion data from B2C Commerce in real time. In this case, pricing and tax data
in Order Management item and promotion records is ignored. This configuration affects orders
as follows:
- When orders are imported from B2C Commerce, they include the pricing, taxation policy,
sales tax or VAT, and promotion data as calculated in B2C Commerce.
- When items are browsed in Customer Service Center, pricing, tax/ VAT, and promotion
data is retrieved from B2C Commerce.
- When items are added to an order in Customer Service Center, pricing, tax, and
promotion data is retrieved from B2C Commerce.
- When you change an order in Customer Service Center, pricing, tax, and promotion data
is only retrieved from B2C Commerce for items you add. Any promotions or discounts based
wholly or in part on items already in the order are not triggered. Sometimes, you must
adjust prices manually when editing an existing order.
- Order Management and B2C Commerce are configured to share pricing and price adjustment
data via regular import-export synchronization. This synchronization can be configured in
either of the following ways:
- Data is mastered in B2C Commerce price books and exported to Order Management on a
regular schedule.
- Data is mastered in Order Management and exported to B2C Commerce on a regular
schedule. Optionally, changes made in B2C Commerce price books can also be exported back
to Order Management.
Note: Taxation, including VAT where appropriate, is a complex topic. Configure your B2C Commerce
implementation to properly handle taxation in all the regions where your company does
business.
